So, someone just e-mailed me asking if I'd be interested in this article for my blog

[TW for victim-blaming]

The article is called “20 Ways to Lessen Your Risk of Sexual Assault.” Of course, not a one of them deals with the whole “don’t sexually assault someone” approach.

I declined the article, with this response:

Thank you for thinking of my blog. I’ll have to decline this, however, as I believe we need to stop putting the onus of preventing sexual assault onto potential victims, and rather start educating potential assailants on how to not sexually assault someone. For example, I’m not going to tell someone to limit how much they drink (unless they’re driving); I’m going to tell someone not to put drugs in anyone’s drink.
