what are you guys doing for new years?
Same thing my BF and I have done for the previous three new years: We get carry out Mexican food, eat it at home, and watch movies all night. Just got done watching Jennifer’s Body, and I have to say, I thought it was great! I know a lot of people didn’t like it, but I did. What’s everyone else doing tonight?

Kidney donation a condition of sisters' release in... →
Two Mississippi sisters who have spent 16 years in prison over an $11 armed robbery will be released with an unusual stipulation: One must donate a kidney to the other. Gov. missgingerlee: In an example of how quickly many members of the public have become not only comfortable with by comforted by the harsh and seemingly arbitrary treatment received by others at the airport, 56-year-old rape victim Claire Hirschkind was hurled to the ground and dragged across the airport by police yesterday, reassuring others that the TSA was right on top of things. “It makes me...

In #MooreandMe: the hashtag that roared, Richard Adams writes: And what #MooreandMe revealed is that the casual dismissal of the allegations against Assange has rightly angered many – explained in compelling detail by Kate Harding, Katha Pollitt and, in this remarkable essay, Andrea Grimes...

I officially hate the wedding industry. HATE.
What the fuck are these food prices??? We could take our entire guest list out to a really nice dinner that would actually taste really good (cause let’s be honest, most wedding food is entirely forgettable) and pay less money than some of these food prices. It is rigoddamndiculous.

spheres replied to your post: Serious question time I’m not having my wedding for a few years, but a few friends have found ways to get around expensive venues by using someone’s beautiful large backyard, or the park, or just on the beach. :) Thanks for the suggestions. We’re not near a beach (I wish!) and a destination wedding probably won’t work for us, money-wise and...

theangryhippie replied to your post: redlightpolitics replied to your post: Serious… If the venue is the only place that you find you cannot cut corners, what about asking for help with the venue fee as a wedding present? Put it on the registry so to speak. You might get some family & friends to pitch in and help you out. That is definitely something to consider. Thanks!

redlightpolitics replied to your post: Serious question time I don’t have advice for planning, as I had a very small and cheap wedding. If it is any consolation, in almost a decade since, I never regretted it. Back then I was sad that it was small and cheap now I am grateful for the decision. Thanks for the input. I think the worst thing is, I thought we were going to have a cheap wedding! As...
